A neurodivergent Guelph therapist with long blonde hair, wearing a white button-up shirt, jeans, and black boots, is sitting on a dark green sofa in a cozy, well-lit room. She is smiling and looking at the camera.

What to Expect

Although there are some more common ways I work with clients, I meet each client where they are at, and work with them on treatment that meets their needs.

Here is some information about the typical “flow” of therapy:

Initial assessment - This is our initial session to meet so I can hear more about what is challenging in the present, as well as start to gather information about you up until this point

Treatment planning - This is typically discussed at the end of our initial assessment session. If possible, I almost always recommend a few sessions spaced more closely together to start, in order to build the therapeutic relationship and start to build momentum in the work

What does a session look like?

Depending what clients are seeking support with, early work might be more goal- or solution-focused. As our relationship and the work builds, we will go deeper with compassionate therapies to understand your experience, as well do some trauma work if it feels relevant.
